From a College Meeting to a Lifetime Together

Lex and Ethan met during the spring semester of their sophomore year at Augustana College in Illinois. It was one of those moments that feels bigger than coincidence, what Lex describes as pure, indescribable magic. But just one week after meeting, Ethan shared that he would be transferring to the University of New Mexico.

Instead of letting that be the end, Ethan invited Lex to work with him at the summer camp he’d grown up at in Wisconsin, just to buy them a little more time.

By the end of that summer, they both knew. Long-distance was scary, but not trying was scarier.

So Ethan moved to New Mexico, Lex stayed in Illinois to finish her degree, and for years they bridged the distance with visits whenever they could—always reuniting in Wisconsin each summer. Their love grew through barefoot hikes, golden sunshine, and laughter that never ran out.

When Lex graduated, she followed her heart—and Ethan—to New Mexico. They’ve been together ever since.
