travel is my passion! You can find me on a road trip or staying on blm in my travel trailer or driving across the country from wisconsin to new mexico. i also will fly every chance i get, i love it so much.

Hey, I’m Sam — the mom, wife, dog mom, and storyteller behind Samantha Cherie Photography.
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was that kid with a disposable camera always in hand, documenting everything around me. I truly fell in love with photography in high school when I learned to shoot on film and later with digital. In 2017, I bought my first digital camera and began photographing food, friends, and family. By 2021, that passion grew into the business I run today.
I’m a wedding, lifestyle and motherhood photographer, as well as a food blogger and food photographer. I photograph families, couples, babies, boudoir, and everything in between, all the moments that make up a beautiful life. Becoming a mom myself deepened my love for motherhood photography even more. There is something incredibly powerful about documenting pregnancy, those first days with a new baby, and the quiet, emotional moments that make up early parenthood. These fleeting chapters deserve to be remembered just as much as your wedding day.
A little about me and my biz!
Weddings are especially close to my heart. They’re fast-paced, emotional, and full of tiny moments that deserve to be remembered. I love being right in the middle of it all, capturing the quiet glances, happy tears, nervous laughs, and the way your partner looks at you when no one else is watching. I’m detail-oriented to my core, and I come prepared for anything. Bobby pins, stain remover, tissues, snacks… I’ve got you.
As an LGBTQ photographer, creating a space where every couple feels safe, celebrated, and fully themselves is incredibly important to me. Your love deserves to be honored exactly as it is, and I want you to feel comfortable, confident, and cared for every step of the way.
Outside of photography, I’m a 90s Aquarius baby, married to my beautiful wife Lauren, raising two amazing kids and two pups. We live in Wisconsin after moving here in the summer of 2026, but we travel to New Mexico often and hold it close to our hearts. I’m a craft beer enthusiast, wine lover, concert-goer, plant lover, tattoo lover, hiking adventurer, and forever chasing lake days. I’m an open book — truly, ask me anything.
I genuinely love what I do, and I’m truly honored every time someone trusts me to tell their story. From wedding vows, to the first kicks in your belly, to tiny newborn fingers, and every chapter after. If you’re looking for a photographer who will laugh with you, cry with you, and capture your day in a way that feels real, heartfelt, and uniquely yours, I’d love to be part of it.

I cannot begin to describe how amazing Samantha was for our wedding! If I could give her 10 stars I would. From the pre wedding planning, she had scheduled zoom meetings and an email timeline to help us get everything in line, set a schedule, and make sure everyone was on the same page for the Day Of. She was beyond helpful in her knowledge and confidence of what would be happening. When we finally got to meet her in person she was so so sweet and amazing that I knew the photography was one thing I did not have to worry about at all! It was so nice to have that not be on my mind, because I was so confident in what she could do. Throughout the night she came up to me with different ideas of photographs to take that we had not planned, that were amazing and I was happy to incorporate into our night. And once we got our pictures back I was BLOWN AWAY!! They were ever better than I had expected, everyone I’ve shown them to had made comments of how great of a job she did. I would definitely book her for any photography shoot we choose to have in the future, I recommend her above and beyond. Thank you, Samantha!!!
